THE DISTANCE OF THE MOON

Based on an amalgamation of Italo Calvino's The Distance of the Moon and my own, The History of the Moon, this costume explores the notion of costume creating movement, and performance changing costume. Performed at Sadlers Wells Lillian Bayliss Theatre by Eve Niker, and choreographed by Anton Mirto. The character, Ayl, lives in a world where light is thick like butter, and people get stuck in patches of light. When Ayl gets stuck in the light, it begins to stick to her, resulting in her turning into the moon.
